Scope of Practice

Midwives specialize in low risk, normal, and natural birth. This means that sometimes a midwife may recommend consulting with a specialist health care professional for their opinion on higher-risk matters. If your midwives determine that your pregnancy has become high-risk, we will recommend a transfer of your care to an obstetrician and whenever possible, remain a part of your team in a supportive role.
