Birth is an integral part of my life and has been for more than 25 years. Beginning with a Nursing Diploma where I specialized in Obstetrics, my passion intensified and I decided to become a Birth Doula and Certified Doula Instructor, with a specialized interest in holistic nutrition. I have attended both home and hospital births and have provided prenatal education, as well as postpartum and breastfeeding support. It is this professional experience as well as the birth of my four children that motivates me to advocate for and support women and their families. I have learned firsthand the importance of a woman’s informed choice and the need for a solid support system during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Born and raised in the heart of Norfolk County, I am beyond thrilled to continue supporting families in our community in my role as a Second Attendant with the wonderful Midwives at Norfolk Roots. When not attending a birth you’ll find me hanging out with my family, in my herb garden, playing music, reading a book, or walking on the beach.
